How to Create an Addon Domain in My Hosting Account

Creating an addon domain allows you to host multiple websites under the same hosting account. Follow these steps to set up an addon domain successfully:

Step 1: Check Domain & Nameservers

  1. Ensure the domain name you want to add is already registered.
  2. Verify that your domain’s nameservers point to your hosting account. If they do not, update them to:
    • ns1.finxhost.com
    • ns2.finxhost.com
  3. If your nameservers are already set correctly, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Add the Domain in cPanel

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Navigate to the Domains section and click on Domains.
  3. Click on Create a New Domain.
  4. Enter your domain name (without HTTP or WWW).
  5. Important: If you don’t want your addon domain to load the same content as your primary domain, untick the Share document root checkbox.
  6. Click the Submit button.

Step 3: Upload Your Website Files

Once your domain is successfully added, a dedicated folder for it will be created inside the public_html directory. You can now upload your website files to this folder.

Your addon domain is now ready to use!
